Includes the records of the Office of the Provost which oversees the academic mission of the University. Materials in this collection address all aspects of academic policy at the University: program planning and review, faculty policies and salary practices, grading policies, long-range planning, and budgeting.

The Oskar Maria Graf Papers consist primarily of photocopies of Graf's works. This includes correspondence; writing; newspaper clippings about Graf; exhibitions about Graf; numerous photographs of Graf, his family and acquaintances; and subject files.

The correspondence in this series consists almost exclusively of photocopies of Graf's letters to and from prominent individuals collected by Mrs. Graf after his death. (Letters of Gisela Graf which continue Graf's correspondence after his death are also included in this series.) Included is a small amount of correspondence with family members, as well as correspondence with: Johannes R. and Lilly Becher, Siegfried Bernfeld, Heinrich Böll, Hermann Broch, Ferdinand Bruckner, Albert Ehrenstein, Albert Einstein, Hans Magnus Enzensberger, Lion and Marta Feuchtwanger, Gustav and Else Fischer, Bruno Frank, Leonhard Frank, Günter Grass, Hugo Hartung, Th. Th. Heine, Hermann Hesse, Franz Jung, Prinz Hubertus zu Löwenstein, Erika, Heinrich, Katja, Klaus and Thomas Mann, Robert Neumann, Rudolf Olden, Rolf Recknagel, Erich Maria Remarque, Will Schaber, Dorothy Thompson, Sergei Tretiakov, Fritz von Unruh, Berthold Viertel, Ernst Waldinger, Wendell L. Wilkie.

This collection predominantly contains German and English manuscripts, plays, poetry, lectures, and articles in newspapers and magazines, 1933-1969. There is also correspondence with friends, writers and with Twentieth Century Fox pertaining to copyright infringement, 1940-1948. Otto Furth also wrote under the pseudonym Owen Elford.

This series contains isolated letters over the years, including some with relatives. One folder of special interest contains letters received by Fürth relating to his time in Tientsin, China, 1919-1921.

The Otto Kirchheimer Papers contain correspondence with colleagues, publishers and students, book reviews written by Kirchheimer, reviews and offprints published by his colleagues and associates, and research notes on the social and political context of law. Listings of his offprint collection, book reviews, and pamphlets, as well as a list of the books held in Otto Kirchheimer's personal library are in the autobiographical file.

Encompasses, but is not limited to, correspondence with professional colleagues about each other's research, narratives of projects, requests for critical analyses, as well as solicitations for articles, speeches and papers. Includes letters of recommendation, job offers, and petitions for research ideas from colleagues and students. Contains critical exchanges about the new German government, German elections, and the emerging political parties.

The Paul Leser Papers document not only the life and career of anthropologist Paul Leser, but also contain materials pertaining to Leser's sister, Maria Lingemann and her husband Heinrich Lingemann, and earlier members of the Leser family. Although the collection contains correspondence between Paul and his brother, Albert (Leser) Lestoque, a separate collection, the Albert (Leser) Lestoque Papers, held at the University at Albany's Department of Special Collections & Archives documents the life and career of Paul Leser's brother as well as providing additional Leser family documents and material.

This series is divided into three sections: documents pertaining directly to Paul Leser, documents pertaining to other family members, and newspaper clippings primarily about Paul Leser. Included in this series are materials pertaining to the Leser family residence, located in the Plittersdorf section of Bonn, Germany, and include documentation of the estate, details of the original land purchase, wartime confiscation by the Nazis, later restitution claims, and final sale of the property in 1972.

The bulk of the collection consists of Bendix' writings and the materials used by him for research purposes as well as for his courses in political and social sciences. This includes a large volume of materials on Max Weber, social stratification, power and authority, bureaucracy, industrialization and large-scale organizations. Bendix' files contain correspondence dealing with his career at the University of California, Berkeley and include materials pertaining to controversies at the university and within the Department of Sociology, as well as student issues and recommendations. Also present in the collection are a number of files dealing with individuals and issues connected with both the American Sociological Association and the International Sociological Association.

This series contains both published and unpublished writings by Bendix. Included in this series are early writings in German (1930-1938), background materials and early versions of several book publications, including Social Mobility in Industry (1959), Embattled Reason (1970), and extensive files pertaining to Work and Authority in Industry (1956). The series also contains numerous essay and lecture texts, including many on various aspects of the writings of Max Weber, and reviews of the works of others.

The Roger T. Conant Papers document his friendship with fellow University at Albany graduate student Vicki Gekas.

The Samuel B. Gould Papers document his personal life as well as his many professional positions in education, including his tenure as chancellor of the State University of New York.

The School of Education has its origins as the academic unit of the State Normal School in 1844. It remained a core part of the curriculum of the State College for Teachers (1914-1959) and continued after the 1960s as an academic school within a large public research university.

This series contains materials relating directly to the activities and programs of the School of Education. Topics of interest include administrators and in-service education, adult basic education, Albany Public Schools, the Argentine Nationals Programs, the Behavior Research Program, the Bennington Project, Black Studies, the Center for Executive Development, co-operative community college programs, courses, curricula, the Doctor of Arts Program, the Doctor of Education Program, educational administration, educational media, educational research, the Experimental College, the Milne School, National Defense Education Act, Peace Corps training program in India, the Regional Education Laboratory, reading teachers, school psychology, special education, summer institutes, training of teachers, the Training Program for Subject Supervisors, the Two-Year College Consortium, vocational rehabilitation, and workshops.

The Socialist Party of the United States of America Dover, New Hampshire Local Records contain records that document the range of activities of the Local. Records include correspondence that highlight the contacts of the local and its place within the broader Socialist Party movement in the United States.
