Scope and Content:

Included in this collection are research proposals, reports published by the university's School of Education and Center for Curriculum Research and Services, tests and grading rubrics, lecture notes and outlines for Leese's classes, correspondence, as well as published and unpublished articles by Leese and others. This collection also contains a number of bound and unbound dissertations written by Leese's students.

Biographical / Historical:

Dr. Joseph Leese was a professor of education and one of the organizers of the Capital Area School Development Council. He attended The New York State College for Teachers in Albany for his undergraduate work and later taught at the school from 1948, in addition to working with local secondary schools. He was the first executive director of the Capital Area School Development Council, later the Capital Area School Development Association (CASDA),

from 1949-1953.

Acquisition information:
All items in this collection were transferred to the University Libraries, M.E. Grenander Department of Special Collections and Archives in 2006.
