The files in this series vary in subject matter, but are all relevant to Lou Ismay's Environmental Forum classes and environmental issues. Many of the topics relate to environmental organizations. Other folders include news clippings and information by or about individual people, such as Ralph Nader, who visited and spoke at the school in the early 1970s. Included in this series is information on the Hudson River Sloop Restoration, which contains letters written by Pete Seeger. Oversized material is filed separately.

This is an alphabetical letter series of the General Reference collection. The General Reference Collection was created by archivists to hold information on campus history that is not part of any organic record group. The collection contains material from a variety of outside sources, excepts from newspapers and other publications, press releases and promotional materials, and loose university records.

This series contains files pertaining to planning decisions for areas/projects that span county boundaries within New York State's Capital District -- i.e., Albany County, Rensselaer County, Saratoga County, and Schenectady County. A great many of the files involve regional transportation planning and travel data; this includes corridor plans and studies, as well as non-state federal-aid streets and highways conditions reports. There are documents pertaining to the Port of Albany spanning several decades. Other documents of note include an analysis of the Albany-Schenectady-Troy housing market, air quality data for the region, and a soil map of Albany and Schenectady counties from the 1930s.

This series contains copies of the Congressional Record including remarks by or about Frank Becker or of interest to him, such as prayer in schools. Sometimes the entire copy of the Congressional Record appears in the folder, while other times there is just a clipping. In addition, there is supplemental correspondence in some files. Please note the numbers in the folder titles refer to the page number of the remarks of interest.

This series contains meeting schedules and minutes of Search Committee meetings, documentation of how the position was advertised, affirmative action data, correspondence between committee members, pamphlets on how to organize a search committee, solicitations of candidate recommendations from other universities and form letters sent to applicants for the position.

Series 8 documents the work that Dr. Vonnegut did while employed at SUNY Albany. During his time at SUNY Albany, Dr. Vonnegut taught classes, served on committees, attended conferences, and continued his research concerning weather, lightning, and clouds. Much of the research that Dr. Vonnegut did while at SUNY Albany was done as part of government research projects. Most notable was his work on Project Themis which was conducted by the United States Air Force. The project's main focus was on the modification and structure of clouds and fog but also investigated other areas of research such as raindrop dynamics and atmospheric electrical phenomena
