This series is made up of publications produced by the English Department for students and the public at large. This includes "News About English," a pamphlet containing departmental course listings and advising information (1977-2000) as well as various student literary magazines administered by the English Department at different times, Including Primer and Tangent. Additionally, this series contains a number of external publications produced by people and groups connected to the Department of English. This includes The Little Magazine, a literary magazine produced by the Writing Program at SUNY Albany (1966-1994) and 13th Moon, a feminist literary magazine edited by Judith E. Johnson, a professor of Writing and Women's Studies at the University at Albany, SUNY.
The departmental website was used for promoting the department's programs to potential students and for news and reference information for current students and faculty.
This series contains university employee disclosure statements and related memoranda. This series also contains a number of files documenting the process of handing out research grants and awards, including FRAP and the Albany Benevolent Association Grant Awards. The series also contains several folders of correspondence sent both to and from the Office of Research and Graduate Studies. Finally, this series includes correspondence with a number of international universities regarding both proposed and implemented cooperative degree programs.
Series 1 contains materials Dr. Blanchard published while at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute and the State University of New York at Albany as well as after his retirement. The topics covered by these publications include the history of science, water-to-air transfer, aerobiology, sea salt aerosols, volcanic electricity, and surface charge. There are also materials covering his studies of bubbles, water droplets, and rain. Along with his scientific publications, Dr. Blanchard also wrote letters to editors, comments and replies to articles, book reviews, obituaries, and autobiographical articles. Dr. Blanchard published materials from the early 1950s to the early 2000s but the majority of materials in are from 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s.
