Writings, 1970-1976 0.33 cubic ft.
Most of the materials in this series are memoranda that represent communications between committee members as well as between committee members and university administration. There are also meeting minutes, reports, correspondence and class materials. For an overview of the programs creation, see Box 2, Folder 8, Report on Environmental Studies Program, which is composed of materials organized by Paul Bulger and Lou Ismay.
Writings, 1937-1980 2.5 cubic ft.
In this series are manuscripts and drafts of articles and book chapters written by Rienow, both alone and in cooperation with his wife. In many cases there are multiple drafts of the same article. Many of the drafts include handwritten corrections and annotations by Rienow. These files also include clippings and handwritten notes used in the creation of drafts and manuscripts, as well as occasional correspondence with publishers. Most of the writings relate to Rienow's political science or environmental interests. These include articles on the American standard of living and nuclear fallout, and contributions to the Book of Knowledge and the World Book Encyclopedia on United States government. A number of manuscripts, many of which were co-authored with Leona Train Rienow, are satirical looks at American and European society, including travel articles such as "What! No Lather?" Also found in this series are several drafts of Leona Train Rienow's 1970 novel The Year of the Last Eagle, to which Robert Rienow contributed, as well as a draft of her 1948 novel The Bewitched Caverns.
This series consists mainly of letters and postcards. Also included are some war department press releases, newspaper clippings and photographs of former students of the New York State College for Teachers at Albany who were serving in the armed services. The papers also contain a card index listing the names and service addresses of all former State College students serving in the armed services from 1941 to 1945. Though for the most part the files contain correspondence relating to the activities of fellow students, they also include observations about fellow servicemen from the greater Albany area and about the social conditions where the correspondents were stationed. There are few observations about combat conditions.

The collection holds the materials from Women's Studies Class 399: Classism, Racism, and Sexism. It was taught by Gloria DeSole who was the Director of the Affirmative Action Office. Materials include; student lists, syllabi, handouts, and DeSole's class notes for lecture.
Wendell Lorang Space Management Committee Records, 1980-1986 1.33 cubic ft.
This series is made up of documents collected and created by Wendell Lorang, Associate Director of Institutional Research and Chair of the Space Management Committee. The documents in this series include correspondence, memoranda regarding space allocations, renovation and alteration requests, classroom move requests, and committee meeting minutes.

This series contains meeting schedules and minutes of Search Committee meetings, documentation of how the position was advertised, affirmative action data, correspondence between committee members, pamphlets on how to organize a search committee, solicitations of candidate recommendations from other universities and form letters sent to applicants for the position.
Vocal Compositions, 1947-1984, Undated 1.26 cubic ft.
Series 2 contains compositions Kastle wrote based on poems, such as those written by Emily Dickinson, Robert Frost, and A.E. Houseman. This also contains compositions for Mass, which was aired on Public Television in 1978.
The materials document the 40-50 writer events held yearly at the University at Albany, which include informal seminars, writing workshops, and readings.
